A Week of Blood & Gore

[It has been a fast but long week... i donno... got myself into lotsa things involved with blood... kinda weird... it's like i'm going through an emo moment and juz had to go through with all the pain... even though i'm totally not emo... so yeah.... guess it's good that it's all done? =P... teehee... hui hui]

It started with... I think Tuesday...

Rang up the blood donor service for my 3-monthly donation. The line was so busy/the computer crashed during lunch time, that I had to hold the line for a really,
really, excruciatingly painful long time. Mnmn... just saw irony in my last sentence. Anyway, I finally got through, and it turned out that I could go in to donate on the same day! =) ... Over joyed that I could get it done on the same day that I rang, I rushed off to the donor center, and gave my 470mLs of blood. Record time of 6:10 mins! ^^ ... Was super glad. Came home, everything was good. Then the bruising started. It was the first time I donated with my right arm (usually I use my left) , and somehow the nurse bandaged me wrongly, and this came about...

Yeah... the colour isn't showing as well here, but the bruise is pretty damn big. =P ... Oh well, it doesn't hurt or anything, I just bruise easily. =)

Along came Wednesday...

Today, was randomly invited to go shopping, so I did. It was fun, picking out alternative/awesome stuff for a friend, who in return, bought me a chocolate rose for Valentine's (refer to last post). Teehee. That was such a sweet gesture, love ya Buddy. Anyway, was walking around the city, and have been thinking about getting my belly pierced since last year, so we spontaneously decided that I should get it done today. Off we went, to
Essential Beauty, and I got my belly pierced for about $73. Not too bad, I guess. It's doing quite well, just bleeding a little upon irritation, and there's bruising again, since I get that easily. Here's a picture:

Teehee, it will look soooo sexy when it heals. Gah, can't wait. =)

Friday then rolled by...

Woke up at 6am. Got to the hospital by 7am. Signed some paperwork, paid my fees, and got ready to go under general anesthetic.

"Now you will feel a cold liquid running up your arm through your veins..."
"Yep..." (teehee, feels tingly)
"And then you'll get a funny taste at the back of your throat, and maybe some coldness..."
"Yep... oh yeah... tastes funny..."
*faints*
*wakes up to someone calling out my name repetitively*
*feels totally drowsy/knocked out, continued sleeping*

Finally got home around 11am, and I just slept through till about 2pm- when the drugs wore off. Cheeks puffy, drowsy and simply out of it, I just stayed home and rested with ice packs around my face. ^^... no pain! Awesome pain killers! It's a funny sensation, the pain, it's numbing but not quite, and it feels like I'm constantly holding something in my mouth, even though there really is nothing there. What an experience. It's getting all good now, still can't really eat or brush my teeth... but at least it's
feeling better. =) ...

Yeah... another interruption to my holiday posts, but this week has spontaneously turned into a week filled with blood. So weird. Not intentional at all! =S ... I guess spontaneity can result in weird endings... but the outcome of everything mentioned has been awesome! =)

Glad I've done it all before uni start tomorrow. Raah.

I'm not intricately,
so happy. =D

Finally able to open the chocolates he gave me,
was waiting for the right moment,
the right time,
the right place.
It arrived!!! =D

Wished you were here,
wished you were next to me,
wished to hear your voice,
wished to know how you are.
Wish you have a good Valentine's too, though we're apart. =)

Teehee... just to end, this is a picture of a chocolate rose (CHOCOLATE ROSE) that a friend bought me yesterday... it was an awesomely sweet gesture, and it really meant a lot to our friendship. Love ya Buddy... but... probably not as much as you love your special someone... and the way I love my unique somebody. =P

Happy Valentine's Day!

End of Year Holiday '07 I

[yeah!!! Finally have time to BLOG... wakaka... so many food photos to show this time... my holiday was sooooo damn awesommmeeeeeeeeeee.... wahahaha... here goes the start! =D ... hui]

9th Dec 2007 marked the first day of a long tedious journey to my first stop, Malaysia. The horrible plane trip on Tiger Airways was interesting, and definitely very uncomfortable. Small seating, little leg room, tiny space between seats, annoying passengers in front who lean back way too much... the combination was not pretty at all. Luckily I'm quite petite in size- I felt so sorry for that really tall, lanky guy who basically looked like a curled up hermit crab just trying to sleep. Man, that trip was seriously a test of perseverance.

However, that was not the worse part of it all. The next day, I was on the train for the whole day (about 8 hours), in order to get from Singapore to Malaysia (around KL). On the train, Mum and I saw some Japanese tourists, and they had the best bento boxes for lunch!!! We were so hungry and jealous it was not pretty either. =P ... Quite funny actually. We thought the train lunch cart would offer some authentic Malaysian cuisine... but it turned out that the chef was not there, and no good food was being made- just cheap bread that had barely any filling. Anyway, when we finally got to Klang, we had to wait another hour at the train station for my Daddy to pick us up. It was raining, there were weird people gazing at us suspiciously, there was a man smoking next to me. Urgh. It was such a relief to finally reach my little woop woop home in Banting after another 40 minutes drive, where Mum and I unloaded our luggage and settled in.

On the bright side, I started my "Malaysian Good Food Episodes" with a Da Bao (Big Bao). Y-U-M. That's all I can say/describe it. It was seriously magical- the authentic taste, the freshness, the hawker atmosphere... man, I was in heaven.

La Legendary Da Bao... SO GOOD!

This first week in Malaysia meant hurried shopping for supplies/things to bring back to Perth. I basically had 10kg worth of flight weight to carry from Malaysia, and another 20kg from Shanghai- my next destination! The trip was planned like this (can refer to previous post):

Perth-Singapore-Malaysia-Shanghai-Malaysia-Singapore-Perth (all because of cheap air tickets... sigh)

So I frantically shopped for about 2 days in KL before departing to Shanghai. Sorry I couldn't meet up with peoples!!! I had to use the little time I had to shop for things I need/want to bring to Shanghai/bring back to Perth. Though rushed, I still had fun. Teehee. Of course, more good food to add to my Episode during these few days before the departure to Shanghai. I also enjoyed the humid but sunny weather in Malaysia, as well as the regular afternoon rainfall. I love that about tropical countries. Not when I was out with Mummy and we only had an umbrella to share though. That was bad. Here are some pictures of the good food:

Tropical fruits!!! Nashi pear, sweeeet bananas and PAPAYA!!! Oh My God!

Bak Kut Teh / Rou Gu Ca ... DELICACY... Mnmnmnmmm...

Ice Kachang... ICE KACHANG! What more can I say?!?!?!

I shall end this post here for now... prepare for Part II tomorrow. Teehee... it has officially taken one whole day to publish this post... sigh. I shall do other posts just on the good food... that would be so awesome. Teehee, I love my food!!! =)
